H&M to open (at least) 3 new stores in 2009 and in Kansai for 2010

H&M ShinsaibashiH&M Hennes & Mauritz AB will open in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, by spring 2010.

This new Exciting location will be the 1st store outside Tokyo and the 5th in Japan, after the Succesfull opening in Ginza and Harajuku and the next to come Shinjuku (2009) and Shibuya (2009)

The Shinsaibashi store will have 1,000 sq. meters of sales space, almost the same size as the Ginza store. Given that the locations in Tokyo have been popular enough for lines for form after they open, fashion competition is expected to heat up in Osaka as well.

To launch his pre-collection Winter 2009 Chanel Paris-Moscou, Karl Lagerfeld has realized a short  film Paris-Moscou. Shot in black and white  this is a silent film introducing a young Coco Chanel in early 1900. Edita Vilkeviciute is playing Coco Chanel.   Here is the teaser.

Dolce & Gabbana to launch Makeup Line


D&G 1st Make up Line

Dolce & Gabbana is ready to launch its first makeup line and it is expected to hit stores not later thand the end of January.

Procter & Gamble Prestige Products collaborated to create the color cosmetics line, which took several years to produce. The designer duo also sought help creating their products from makeup artist matriarch Pat McGrath, who oversees the models’ faces backstage at Dolce & Gabbana fashion shows.

It is rumored that a Hollywood starlet will be the face of the makeup line’s advertising campaign.

It’s on and popping within the house of CDG. Building an extensive 2008 portfolio with H&M & Louis Vuitton, Comme des Garçons will be in collaboration is LV once again. While the current pop-up shop showcasing the Comme des Garçons x Louis Vuitton on Kotto Dori in Aoyama comes under wraps [come Decemeber 14th], CDG will be using the same space to unleash their new BLACK Comme des Garçons concept store which is slated to open January 2009.  The new BLACK Comme des Garçons concept shop will be open for two months in Japan. Tokyo Dandy reports that “BLACK commes des Garcons” is said to be historically themed with limited edition items. There is no word on what will be actually featured with this co-branded capsule collection. STAY TUNED! –

When Marc meets Madonna

The star is shot by legendary photographer Steven Meisel, in a sultry French cafe setting. When it came to choosing the new face, designer Marc Jacobs wouldn’t have it any other way. “I wanted the campaign to be very bold, very sensual and very atmospheric. To carry off all these references and all its sophistication, we needed the ultimate performer — and for me, that is Madonna,” says Jacobs.
