Louis Vuitton Campain Autumn/Winter 2009
The upcoming Louis Vuitton campaign featuring Madonna was photographed by Steven Meisel for their Autumn/Winter 2009 collection in New York on April 29 under the artistic direction of Marc Jacobs.
We’ve been told that the result of this new collaboration is once again simply stunning but most importantly for those who were worried about this “Part Deux” it looks very different from the Spring campaign and has a completely original feel.
Madonna’s look in the new images will be basically the one you’re all familiar with thanks to the MET gala: long boots, a few variations of dresses mainly in blue and magenta, and this year’s Vuitton’s signature bunny ears.
Madonna is always wearing gloves and in every image she holds a different bag from the new collection of the French maison. She’s portraied leaning on a sofa and seated on an armchair, with a heavy, plain curtain in the background. This time there is no set location at all – the atmosphere is a bit dark and definetly intimate.
One interesting part is that each image is digitally enhanced with colorizing effects that somehow recall the high-dynamic range photography, giving to the new campaign an absolutelycontemporary yet timeless vibe.
From what we understand up to seven different images – spanning from close-ups to american-shot compositions – will be released in the August 2009 issue of fashion magazines worldwide coming out next month.
We can’t wait!!!

This autumn, British accessory brand Jimmy Choo will bring its international glamour and covetable shoes and bags to selected H&M stores. The collection will be available from November 14 in around 200 stores across the world. It is the first time that H&M is collaborating with an accessories brand, and to celebrate Jimmy Choo will extend its design vision for this collection to women’s clothing to complement the accessories. Further exciting news is that this collaboration includes a men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories.
“We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too. Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!” Tamara Mellon, Founder and President, Jimmy Choo.
“We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection. It’s a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers.” Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor, H&M.
Since its launch in 1996, Jimmy Choo has been such a phenomenal success that the brand name has become part of popular culture – say the words “Jimmy Choo”, and you know you mean shoes. In Hollywood, Jimmy Choo shoes have become a red-carpet essential, and have been worn at the Oscars by winners such as Cate Blanchett, Halle Berry and Hilary Swank among many other actresses. The famous Jimmy Choo shoes will be at the heart of the exclusive collection for H&M, but there’s more. Jimmy Choo has also become well known for its bags, and for H&M there will be a whole range of accessories to complete the look.

Katy Perry has joined Dita Von Teese and many other celebrities by signing up to sign up to H&M’s campaign for “Fashion Against Aids.”
Katy’s design for the store includes a printed bodysuit, featuring a smiley face inside a heart, Female First reports. Estelle, Robyn, Tokio Hotel and N.E.R.D. are other celebrities who have contributed for the cause.
Katy’s message reads, “It’s what’s on the outside that counts,” while Estelle’s says, “Life is too short – have sex be safe.”
Legends as Cyndi Lauper and Yoko Ono designed clothing with slogans like, “Girls just wanna have safe sex” and “Imagine peace.”
Each musician has collaborated with the brand and designed a piece of clothing with a personal safe-sex slogan printed on it. The garments will be sold exclusively via H&M’s Divided departments to help increase the awareness of HIV/AIDS.
Working with charities like Designers Against AIDS, YouthAIDS, UNFPA and MTV Staying Alive Foundation the campaign donates 25 percent of the sales price from the collection to HIV/AIDS awareness projects. It goes on sale May 28.
If you happen to be in Tokyo on May 27th, don’t miss an exclusive live appearance from Katy Perry in one of the H&M stores in Tokyo to launch FAA, which will be broadcast live on-line at hm.com on May 27th, 1pm CET .
This is the second year that H&M has supported Designers Against AIDS (DAA) by sending out positive messages via the medium of fashion led t-shirts. Last year the t-shirts weren’t around for long, so you’d better act quick. And they raised 1.2 million for HIV/AIDS projects as 25% of the sale price goes to projects around the world. So it’s a very worthy cause and an excellent reason to go shopping.
